Item Comportamiento exportador del sector de biotecnología verde de empresas de Estados UnidosAlbornoz-Martin, Karen Yuliana; Ramirez-Suarez, Andrea; Aguilar-Galeano, EstibalizGreen biotechnology promotes a more efficient and sustainable agriculture, providing producers with various tools and solutions to market demands, which together contribute to innovation and economic growth of the countries that implement it, which is why biotechnology is a topic of research in developed countries, particularly the United States, which leads the biotechnology market and its discoveries in the field that allow countries seeking to enter this sector to take it as a guide in their process. The main objective of this research is to study the exporting behavior of the United States, based on the legislative, economic and international political structure, international agreements, national and business management strategies applied by the country to maintain its leadership in the global market. For the purpose of this thesis, a qualitative method was developed to investigate export behavior, which revealed that, although the United States has a regulatory framework that allows for order in the management of biotechnology, a strong research structure and the strategies it implements at the business level keep it on the market podium, however, the country still faces certain challenges to remain competitive in some sectors of green biotechnology, but even so, its participation and contribution to the biotechnology market works as a mentor for the United States in the global biotechnology market.Item Efecto de las prácticas sostenibles en la competitividad de los puertos de la región Caribe de ColombiaCasallas-Monroy, Diany Yineth; Jiménez-Pinillos, Paula Natalia; Aguilar-Galeano, EstibalizThe Caribbean region handles a large percentage of the total movements and port operations in Colombia and its main ports are located in the cities of Cartagena, Santa Marta and Barranquilla, where, although sustainable initiatives have been carried out, the lag in infrastructure and technology with respect to international ports is evident, which is why it is sought to identify the effect of sustainable practices on the competitiveness of the Colombian Caribbean ports, determining which are the sustainable practices that make the main ports of the world competitive and describing the practices implemented by the ports of the Colombian Caribbean region to finally establish sustainability criteria that favor competitiveness in the ports of said region. To meet the objectives, Porter's theory of Environmental Competitiveness was taken as support, which highlights the need to seek a sustainable balance between the conservation of natural resources and productive development, this through documentary research collecting data from multiple sources of information focused on in the three ports of the Caribbean region and three international ports of great relevance and technological development that are actively working on sustainable strategies for the development of their activities, Shanghai, Catalonia and Rotterdam. This made it possible to determine that sustainability in ports is becoming a necessity to comply with international agreements, streamlining processes and generating improvement points to make them more competitive.Item Estrategias comerciales que potencialicen la exportación de gulupa (Passiflora edulis) al mercado suizoMoreno-Sabogal, Julian Oswaldo; Conde-Rojas, Daniel Felipe; Aguilar-Galeano, EstibalizThe main objective of this research is to carry out an analysis of the strengths that Colombia has as an exporter of passion flowers, more precisely of the gulupa, towards the Swiss market to determine what is the advantage it has over other exporting countries and establish strategies that enhance the production and later the export of gulupa to the Swiss market. During the research process, 3 specific objectives are set which will reveal the most suitable strategies to potentiate the production of gulupa towards the Swiss market. The research was carried out through a qualitative, non-experimental approach methodology, where information was obtained to know the behavior of the fruit and vegetable market in Colombia and thus be able to establish different strategies which would help significantly to increase the production of gulupa in Colombia having as a market main to Switzerland, such as the implementation of environmental seals, foreign investment, the modernization of Colombian agriculture, the derivation of the gulupa to generate added value and meet a demand that is not only supplied by fresh fruit.Item Incidencia del Tratado de Libre Comercio (TLC) con Estados Unidos en el Sector de Cuero, Calzado y Maquinería colombianoMedina-Alzate, Julieth Tatiana; Aguilar-Galeano, EstibalizThe Leather, Footwear and Leather Goods Sector in Colombia has had factors that have posed challenges both in the national and international markets, which led to important economic and political changes, after the signing of the free trade agreement (FTA) with the United States, in where the businessmen of the sector have been increasing in exports, in the purchase of raw material, additionally one of the most important agreements is the reduction of tariffs to 0% for the first ten years in which the validity of the treaty has elapsed, without leaving aside the alliance of the different entities to encourage foreign investment, this being positive, to expand the information on the situation of the sector, the descriptive qualitative methodology was worked on, in which the incidence of the United States trade agreement was analyzed. United States and Colombia in the sector, to develop the chapters of the investigation, the theory of integration was taken as a reference. Integration of Bela Balassa, as the organizational structure in turn the interaction in the free trade zone of both countries for the improvement and monitoring of protection for the entry of merchandise in the border area.Item Oportunidad comercial de Colombia para exportar guayaba pera a Estados UnidosPalomar-Cifuentes, Laura Andrea; Joya-Cogua, Diana Carolina; Aguilar-Galeano, EstibalizThe purpose of this project is to determine what is the commercial opportunity that Colombia has to export pear guava to the United States market. For this research, a qualitative approach and a descriptive type of research were used, in order to collect information independently. We worked under the model of Porter's competitive advantage theory, which provided the basis to identify through the production factors the strengths, opportunities, weaknesses and threats that the object of study may have, after which they were evaluated the current demand and competition conditions to export pear guava to the United States. As a result, it was found that Colombia has relevant strengths and opportunities to reach the US market, taking as a first that the United States is a demanding market and must comply with phytosanitary and security measures and arguably the most demanding customs regulations worldwide.
