Item La inteligencia artificial y su impacto en los procesos creativos de la dirección de fotografía en producciones audiovisuales independientes en Bogotá (2020–2025)Parra-Herreño, Henry Daniel; Niño-Mora, David Santiago; Ronald-Gonzalo, Espitia SánchezThis work analyzes the impact of artificial intelligence (AI) on the creative processes of cinematography in independent audiovisual productions in Bogotá between 2020 and 2025. The research stems from the accelerated growth of AI-based tools such as automated color correction systems, virtual production, image generation, and lighting simulation, and how these have begun to be integrated into independent contexts, traditionally limited by technical and budgetary resources. The study posits that cinematography has undergone a profound transformation, shifting from a role focused exclusively on image capture (light, camera, and composition) to an expanded and hybrid one, where the cinematographer interacts with algorithms, virtual environments, and automated systems throughout the entire production process, from pre-production to post-production. Using a qualitative and exploratory approach, the research combines a theoretical framework, case studies, and data collection through interviews and surveys administered to students, professors, and professionals in the field. International case studies such as The Mandalorian, which exemplifies the advanced integration of AI and virtual production, are analyzed, as well as independent experiences like GusanoFilms and emerging Colombian productions, where AI is adopted creatively and strategically with accessible tools. The results demonstrate that AI does not replace the human perspective, but rather acts as a creative assistant that optimizes workflows, reduces time, and expands aesthetic possibilities.
