Joseph Butler (1692-1752) es uno de los filósofos y teólogos ingleses más destacados del siglo XVIII. La presente traducción corresponde a uno de los textos breves que el Obispo añadió a The Analogy of Religion, to the Constitution and Course of Nature. En él reflexiona sobre la identidad personal y dialoga con los argumentos de uno de los más eminentes filósofos de la modernidad: John Locke. El texto original en inglés, sobre el que hicimos la traducción, hace parte del Project Gutenberg.
Joseph Butler (1692–1752) is one of the most prominent English philosophers and theologians of the eighteenth century. The present translation corresponds to one of the short texts that the Bishop added to The Analogy of Religion, to the Constitution and Course of Nature. In it, he reflects on personal identity and engages with the arguments of one of the most eminent philosophers of modernity: John Locke. The original text in English, on which we based our translation, is part of Project Gutenberg.
