Item Sistematización de la experiencia del periódico escolar Sumando Voces en el fortalecimiento de los procesos educomunicativos de los estudiantes del área de humanidades del colegio INEM FDPS ubicado en la localidad de Kennedy (Techotiba)Roha-Valenzuela, Francisco Javier; Bohórquez-Isaza, Martha CeciliaThis research seeks to systematize the experience of the school newspaper “Sumando Voces” (Adding Voices), created by humanities students at the INEM Francisco de Paula Santander School in the Kennedy (Techotiba) district of Bogotá. Using a qualitative approach, the school newspaper process was reconstructed to analyze its impact as a community-based student publication, highlighting educational lessons guided by meaningful learning. Through interviews with teachers, students, and community members, data was collected that allows for reflection on the newspaper's 19-year history, since its founding in 2006, emphasizing its role as an educational communication tool to foster participation, creative expression, and the addressing of the educational community's needs. Challenges and opportunities related to its implementation and sustainability were also identified, and the possibilities for improving the acquisition of knowledge in social communication and journalism among secondary school students in the humanities track were explored. This reflection integrates traditional education and media literacy as complementary approaches to recognizing students' knowledge and concerns, addressing journalism as a lifelong learning experience. Keywords: School press, Media literacy, Meaningful learning, Student participation, Social communication, Community journalism.
