    This work was done to account for the effect that the free trade agreement has had especially on the floriculture sector from the years 2012 to 2016 in order to be able to identify the capacity that Colombia has to continue strengthening the market in the United States, The part was investigated on the antecedents, the effect that the signing of the FTA and its current situation, in order to recognize its strengths, opportunities, threats and vulnerabilities to continue increasing its exports to the United States, that is a country with a strong competition, different strategies were generated so that the sector can have an increase of exports based on the information found.
