| dc.description | The purpose of this paper is to make an approach to the historical conditions of possibility for the emergence of the Centro de Estudios e Investigaciones Sociales (CEIS) within the Communist Party of Colombia, in the fifties and sixties of the twentieth century. Methodologically located from the intellectual history, this article maintains that the CEIS occupied an important place at the intellectual level by making possible the articulation of communist ideas in Colombia in the mid-twentieth century. During its gestation process, and from it, three key functions of the CEIS can be identified within the field of the Colombian left: 1) It made possible the dissemination of the events of world communism in the national context, 2) it contributed to the analysis of the national reality from a Marxist-Leninist perspective, 3) it encouraged the education of communist cadres during much of the 20th century. As a hypothesis for future work, the text proposes that the main characteristic of CEIS, in addition to those already described, consists of a constant desire for education as a revolutionary mechanism. | dc.description | El objetivo de este texto es acercarse a las condiciones históricas que hicieron posible la emergencia del Centro de Estudios e Investigaciones Sociales (CEIS) en el seno del Partido Comunista de Colombia, en las décadas del cincuenta y sesenta del siglo XX. Ubicado metodológicamente desde la historia intelectual, el texto sostiene que el CEIS ocupó un lugar importante a nivel intelectual al hacer posible la articulación de las ideas comunistas en Colombia a mediados del siglo XX. Durante su proceso de gestación, y a partir de este, se pueden identificar tres funciones claves del CEIS en el seno del campo de la izquierda colombiana: 1) hizo posible la difusión de los acontecimientos del comunismo mundial en el contexto nacional, 2) contribuyó al análisis de la realidad nacional desde una perspectiva marxista-leninista, 3) incentivó la formación de cuadros comunistas durante buena parte del siglo XX. Como hipótesis para trabajos futuros, el texto plantea que la característica primordial del CEIS, además de las ya descritas, consiste en un constante afán por la formación como mecanismo revolucionario. De este modo, la contribución de los intelectuales obedeció a un interés formativo, asumido como una posibilidad concreta de transformación social. | es |
