dc.descriptionThis book is an invitation to rethink traditional Colombian historical narratives, which have many unpaid debts with women. Through judicial records and oral, sound and photographic sources, it seeks to recover the voices of that half of the population that was ignored for decades by historiography and to disprove the belief of their supposed weakness, submission and silence. The eleven research studies that make up the book analyze different groups of women between the 17th and 20th centuries to answer questions such as: How were they socially constructed? What was expected of them in each historical period? What was considered a feminine transgression in each era? and How did some behaviors become transformed or naturalized over time? Overall, the book not only evidences the evolution of the feminine in the long term, but also highlights the important participation of women in national history.en
dc.descriptionEste libro es una invitación a repensar las narrativas históricas colombianas tradicionales, que tienen muchas deudas sin saldar con las mujeres. A través de expedientes judiciales y fuentes orales, sonoras y fotográficas, busca recuperar las voces de esa mitad de la población que fue ignorada durante décadas por la historiografía y desvirtuar la creencia de su supuesta debilidad, sumisión y silencio. Las once investigaciones que componen la obra analizan a diversos grupos de mujeres entre los siglos XVII y XX para responder a preguntas del tipo ¿cómo eran construidas socialmente?, ¿qué se esperaba de ellas en cada periodo histórico?, ¿qué se consideraba una trasgresión femenina en cada época? y ¿cómo algunos comportamientos se fueron transformando o naturalizando con el paso del tiempo? En conjunto, el libro no solo evidencia la evolución de lo femenino en la larga dura­ción, sino que resalta la importante participación de las mujeres en la historia nacional.es
