Abstract

Green biotechnology promotes a more efficient and sustainable agriculture, providing producers with various tools and solutions to market demands, which together contribute to innovation and economic growth of the countries that implement it, which is why biotechnology is a topic of research in developed countries, particularly the United States, which leads the biotechnology market and its discoveries in the field that allow countries seeking to enter this sector to take it as a guide in their process. The main objective of this research is to study the exporting behavior of the United States, based on the legislative, economic and international political structure, international agreements, national and business management strategies applied by the country to maintain its leadership in the global market. For the purpose of this thesis, a qualitative method was developed to investigate export behavior, which revealed that, although the United States has a regulatory framework that allows for order in the management of biotechnology, a strong research structure and the strategies it implements at the business level keep it on the market podium, however, the country still faces certain challenges to remain competitive in some sectors of green biotechnology, but even so, its participation and contribution to the biotechnology market works as a mentor for the United States in the global biotechnology market.
