Abstract

This work tries to identify what are the benefits that tourism has to contribute to the development of the department of Cundinamarca and the municipality of Girardot. For this, a characterization of the production that the department of Cundinamarca has; taking into account the economic activity of commerce, repair, restaurants and hotels, a review of the annual survey of services was carried out, determining the participation of gross production and the participation of intermediate consumption, regional development plans for competitiveness and plans. were analyzed. of development of the department of Cundinamarca and the municipality of Girardot. It is concluded that today the economic activity of commerce, repair, restaurants and hotels is important due to its growth and economic contribution given in recent years. The accommodations have an important participation in the generation of employment, as shown in the profile of the employed staff and in the paid staff.
