Item Diseño de un prototipo para el control de parámetros en sistemas acuáticos - Design of a prototype for monitoring parameters in aquatic systemsCalderón-Malagón, Cesar Giovanny; Guzmán-Pulido, Andrés Edilberto; Rodríguez-Veloza, Edgar FabianWater resources constitute one of the fundamental pillars for sustainable development, public health, and ecosystem balance. In recent decades, factors such as climate change, population growth, and pollution have increased the degradation of this resource, creating the need to implement more efficient strategies for its monitoring and control. In this context, communities, governmental entities, and productive sectors face challenges related to water availability and quality, especially in developing countries such as Colombia. From an academic and technological perspective, environmental management and digital transformation have driven the adoption of innovative tools. In particular, telemetry and the Internet of Things (IoT) enable continuous monitoring of environmental variables through real-time data collection and analysis. Likewise, the NSF-WQI index provides a standardized framework for interpreting physicochemical water parameters and supporting informed decision-making. In Colombia, although regulations exist for the protection of water resources, manual or low-frequency monitoring processes still predominate, making it difficult to detect timely alterations in water quality, the objective of this work is to design a scaled prototype for monitoring physicochemical parameters in water bodies, based on the NSF-WQI index, through the integration of sensors and LTE communication technologies. This proposal aims to provide an accessible, efficient, and scalable solution that contributes to environmental management.
