Item Viabilidad y diseño de una red de FTTH para el conjunto residencial Portal del PinarRodríguez-Torres, Daniel Felipe; García-Salcedo, Brayann Alejandro; Umbacia-Betancourt, ElianaThe growing demand for high-speed, low-latency technology services has rendered traditional copper and HFC networks obsolete, as they are insufficient to support current data traffic. Faced with this challenge, fiber-to-the-home (FTTH) networks have emerged as the definitive solution. This research evaluates the technical and economic feasibility of deploying an end-to-end fiber optic network using a Point-to-Point (P2P) topology. Through a descriptive methodological approach and a technical-financial analysis, the design of a robust infrastructure is projected, and the project's profitability indicators are calculated. Preliminary results indicate that the P2P architecture guarantees symmetrical and secure bandwidth, as well as unlimited scalability. It is concluded that the implementation of this network is viable and necessary to ensure optimal connectivity and high availability, sustainably benefiting both residents and visitors of the study area.
