This work is a literature review, focused on the interpretation and analysis of initiatives for the collection and subsequent reuse of glass containers. This subject has main exponents countries such as Germany, Belgium, Austria, among others. The investigation is developed starting from a diagnosis, which allows the identification of the problematic linked to the handling of wastes created from the post-consumption of the glass containers produced by the industry of the liquors and the correct process of final disposition, or the end of life cycle. We develop an exhaustive analysis was carried out of some European Union countries that have a significant percentage in the recovery of glass containers and that execute processes, such as the circular economy, green logistics, reverse logistics, the deposit system, return, return (SDDR) and others. Finally, it contrasts the different initiatives that exist between European countries and Latin American countries such as Argentina and Colombia, having as its main axis economic, legal, cultural and political criteria. To reach the conclusion that with the correct implementation of initiatives mentioned throughout the text, companies could have an effective and functional tool, which allows cost savings and have a positive environmental image in front of their consumers.
