Due to climate change, largely generated by greenhouse gases together with other factors, such as low productivity patterns, food security for an ever-growing world population is not guaranteed, which is why strategies and methods that are environmentally friendly and that also allow improving the quality and quantity of crops must be sought. A common strategy is the use of greenhouses that allow controlling the variables (light, temperature, humidity, CO2 concentration, wind, rain, among others) that intervene in the good development of a crop; it is here, where this research starts, having as object of study a geodesic dome type greenhouse that has the Uniagustiniana University of Bogota and in which emphasis is made on the carrot crop thanks to its high production in the department of Cundinamarca and also that the harvest time is extended throughout the year. Thus, the research was oriented towards a quantitative methodology, in which the seven stages of engineering design were used (Confrontation and sources of information, Formulation of the problem and hypothesis, Design concepts, Synthesis, Analyzable model, Experimentation and optimization, Presentation) and the results were checked with the Matlab-Simulink tool, in this way it was possible to know a theoretical flow rate which is part of the response output of the proposed system and which was taken based on the irrigation and fertilizer needs of the crop.
