Item Análisis de las estrategias que permitieron el crecimiento de las Fintech en Latinoamérica a partir del caso de Nubank y NequiDiaz-Benítez, Laura Camila; López-Zúñiga, Heydy Dahiana; Sandoval-Suarez, Laura Camila; Ulloa-Ramos, Cristian SamirThe Fintech sector has stood out in several countries, including Brazil and Colombia, both of which have important startups in this industry, such as Nequi and Nubank: Nequi and Nubank. These two neobanks, each with a different model but also with similarities, have had a rapid development in the financial sector thanks to their strategies. It is for this reason that the main objective of this paper is to determine the strategies that allowed the growth of the Fintech industry in Latin America through the cases of Nubank and Nequi; where firstly, an analysis of the Latin American environment of the Fintech industry was made in which the different segments that it has and its expansion were evidenced; later, the business profile of Nequi and Nubank was described based on the main milestones, thus demonstrating their growth over the years and the development of their financial services; finally, a comparison of the actions that allowed the success in operations and clients of Nequi and Nubank was elaborated, in order to show the similarities and differences between these two entities. Finally, it was shown that Fintechs have achieved exponential growth thanks to the commercial strategies they have developed over time, since technology has allowed them to create more efficient financial products.Item Análisis del Mercado Integrado Latinoamericano (MILA): evolución histórica, indicadores y retosGonzalez-Ortiz, Alejandro; Ulloa-Ramos, Cristian SamirThe Pacific Alliance (AP) is the greatest and protective economic and integration bloc in Latin America, among others, due to its free capital mobility that has been taking place in the Latin American Integrated Market (MILA its acronym in Spanish). The main objective to this research is to identify institutional, economic and financial factors that are boosting up the market creation of the PA and/or possible obstacles to the consolidation of MILA operations, therefore, this document will let you know the main milestones of this market, its business structures, a flow chart with the generality of the operations, and an analysis of the evolution of the main stock indexes related to this market. Finally, it will present a comparison between PA countries in institutional aspects such as regulatory framework for the entering to the capital markets and actions such as the Alternative Securities Market (MAV its acronym in Spanish) in the Peruvian economy are highlighted as a reference for an increase in the registration of issuers. It is concluded that MILA has had a positive impact on the countries belonging to MILA. Along the time MILAs business structure has been diversified and it is presented as an economic factor that contributes to the positioning of some assets in this market to different economy sectors; The evolution of the stock indexes was satisfactory until 2019 with the COVID-19 advent which changed the trend of these markets. Finally, as an institutional factor, the measure of creation of the MAV and its positive result in attracting small and medium-sized companies to the capital market.Item Escenarios de integración económica latinoamericanaSanabria-Giraldo, Ingrid Yurbey; Tafur-Chacon, Stefania; Ulloa-Ramos, Cristian Samir; Ulloa Ramos, Cristian SamirThis work aims to classify the regional integration initiatives in Latin America, taking into account the characteristics of the countries belonging to each one. To this end, it analyzes political, economic and social variables as central elements for understanding the dynamics of markets and states. Although agreements begin with an expressly commercial motivation, astime goes by these initiatives scale up integration objectives converging towards the design of coordinated economic and social policy actions. The Pacific Alliance is an agreement with a strong emphasis on trade integration within the framework of free competition, while at the other extreme is ALBA, which emphasizes political and social aspects, focusing its actions on state intervention schemes. The main results show that there are more integration initiatives with a commercial emphasis in the region, these are the same in which the member countries have a similar performance in economic variables and a shared vision on the importance of markets. On the other hand, the member countries of interventionist integration agreements reduced their economic and social performance.Item Estado y crecimiento del cross border e-commerce en el mundo, Latinoamérica y ColombiaPirela-Forero, Yuly Maritza; Ariza-Riveros, Marlon Sebastián; Ulloa-Ramos, Cristian SamirThe opportunity to create a company efficiently is to know how to immerse oneself in electronic commerce, especially if it is cross-border, since it has proven to be a specific strategy where new benefits are obtained such as technological adaptability, perfecting the commercialization of the product or service and improving the logistic process, so as to increase exports and negotiations both in Colombia and in the rest of the world. The main objective of this paper is to analyze the incidence of cross-border electronic commerce in the commercial dynamics of Latin America and Colombia with the rest of the world. In this sense, some research sources, concepts and antecedents of cross-border e-commerce were identified in order to deduce the tools that were applied in developed countries, Latin American and Caribbean (LAC) countries and, finally, in Colombia. In conclusion, it addresses the experiences of cross-border e-commerce in the world, analyzing the main factors that occur in developed countries that adopt this commercial activity, with the above, the scope of cross-border e-commerce in Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC) is determined, identifying the challenges that are presented in the 5 main economies of LAC, therefore, it is examined the causes faced by MSMEs in the adoption of cross border e-Commerce in Colombia such as trade financing, logistics, and digital regulations, pointing out the obstacles that MSMEs must overcome to move towards digital transformation.Item Estudio para la importación de vidrio flotado procedente de la república chinaPineda-Triana, Giovany Steven; Perdomo-Molina, Alvaro Andres; Ulloa-Ramos, Cristian SamirThe objective of the document is to show the possible business opportunities for the commercialization of Chinese glass in the Colombian market in the face of a lack of supply in the domestic market. For this, the work presents the analysis of gross production, added value, intermediate consumption and employed personnel of glass production activities in the country through the review of the Annual Manufacturing Survey; On the other hand, the results of the country's commercial relationship with the rest of the world and with the Chinese economy are shown specifically in heading 7005 and subheading 7005,100,000 in order to show in the export experience the levels that up to the At the moment they are traded between both economies. Finally, the import procedure with special specifications for float glass is presented, a market analysis exercise that allows identifying the most important segments and additional aspects related to the competition and distribution channels. It is concluded that the Chinese economy has become for years the country with the most exports of many products and float glass; Colombia has shown its evolution and progress in the glass industry by increasing its production and innovating with new technologies, so much so that it exports to other nearby countries, it should be noted that Colombia's exports are fluctuating and in no country it is maintained, the national production does not It has sufficient characteristics to supply the national demand in terms of quantity and value added factors.Item Oportunidad comercial para la papa y los snacks de papa derivada de la relación comercial entre Colombia y PanamáLeiva-Rojas, Dora Liliana; Quintana-Ladino, Catherine; Rios-Obeso, Danna Lucia; Ulloa-Ramos, Cristian SamirFresh potato and potato snacks are consolidating as products with export potential to the rest of the world. The objective of this research is to identify the business opportunities for marketing potato snacks and fresh potatoes to Panama if the FTA with that country is fully approved. To this end, the study presents an analysis of the production, area, and yield of fresh potatoes to show the trend of these indicators as an important source of inputs for the production of snacks. It also describes the activities of the value chain of each of the two products understudy, that of potato-based on a semi-structured interview with a farmer from Tuta in Boyacá, and that of processed foods based on the synthesis of information for producing companies. Finally, the results of the commercial activity in the commercial relationship with Panama are shown and the Indices of Revealed Comparative Advantage are calculated to evidence processes of relative specialization in the commercial relationship with that country and its relation with the advantage that can be generated, analyzing the experience in foreign trade and providing at the same time a panorama of future exports focused on the constant growth of the index to strengthen competitiveness strategies.Item Oportunidad de negocio del cannabis medicinal en el marco de la hoja de ruta para el desarrollo de la actividad en ColombiaContreras-Delgado, Jennifer Paola; Castro-Quimbayo, Jorge Enrique; Ulloa-Ramos, Cristian SamirThe cannabis market for medicinal purposes is regulated in the country in order to expand its opportunities both in the national and international markets. This work aims to identify business opportunities in the international medical cannabis market within the framework of monitoring the roadmap proposed by the government. This research is approached from a mixed approach since it combines quantitative and qualitative variables for its fulfillment, in particular, associated with the aspects regulated over time, production in the country, exports and main destinations, as well as the characteristic aspects of the potential countries. The main results are those that allow to identify the current status regarding the standard and its operating conditions at the national level, additionally, a statistic regarding the tariff items will be identified, which allows the mobilization of products at the international level. Finally, the countries with the highest demand for cannabis-derived products are identified, allowing a clear projection of the current situation that Colombia is positioning itself in front of the world in the cannabis sector.Item Oportunidades de mejora para la administración de riesgos en la empresa Representaciones del Mundo S.A.S. RepremundoTorres-Pinzon, Kimberly Daniela; Prieto-Ladino, Gener Emiro; Plazas-Reyes, Juan David; Ulloa-Ramos, Cristian SamirThis work aims to identify the risks in the supply chain of the Repremundo company and, possible contingency actions to mitigate the effects on the company's operations in the framework of a crisis such as Covid-19. For this, the process of formulation, monitoring and risk mitigation actions that the company has been carrying out is described, in addition to presenting the stages of the supply chain and the identification of operational, administrative and external risks that the company has with in order to compare a pre-pandemic and pandemic scenario. The main results show that the usual risks of the company in the pre-pandemic scenario were operational and within the framework of the current restrictions, risks such as economic, regulatory and administrative are added. It is recommended that the company have contingent monitoring mechanisms that allow the definition of functions that are activated at times such as the current context, as well as the definition of contingency and emergency plans associated with the external and internal risks that arose from the pandemic.Item Oportunidades de negocio para el maracuyá en el marco del TLC con la Unión EuropeaOsma-Gualdron, Johnny Ramiro; Cañas-Barrios, Karen Tatiana; Abella-Silva, Sara Katherine; Ulloa-Ramos, Cristian SamirIn the last decade, the economic integration of Colombia, through the signing of trade agreements, has led governments to change strategies to take advantage of the advantages of international trade. In particular, the agreement signed with the European Union has generated important changes for the production and marketing of goods and services, due to the new competitiveness strategies that have emerged in the context of globalization; from this perspective (competitiveness), the present monograph explores various hypotheses concerning the business opportunities for cashew fruit under the FTA with the European Union given its differential factor and the strong preference of the European market for this type of product, historically considered at that latitude to be exotic. This, through the calculation of four indices: the share of production by departments, the Herfindahl-Hirschman index (IHH), the Revealed Comparative Advantage Index (IVCR) and the trend of growth of exports from Colombia to the European Union, which allow an analysis of the participation and competitiveness of passion fruit cultivation vis-à-vis the Trade Agreement with the European Union; indicators that allow us to conclude that the production of passion fruit has had a significant increase since 2013, highlighting the departments of Antioquia, Meta, Huila, Arauca and Valle, as the largest producers of fruit. the level of exports increased significantly to the continent of Europe between 2013 and 2019.
