    Efectos de la pandemia de COVID-19 sobre la demanda turística internacional en Colombia, años 2020-2021

    The effect of the COVID-19 pandemic on international tourism demand in Colombia during 2020 is analyzed. This was achieved by: describing the trend in international tourism demand (before the pandemic); characterize the profile of international tourists arriving in the country; to finally show the trend of international tourist demand (worldwide and Colombia), during the pandemic. Theoretically, it was based on the postulates of aggregate demand and international tourist demand. At a methodological level, the quantitative approach and the descriptive scope were chosen, based on variables such as: international tourist demand, ending flows, Gross Domestic Product (GDP), types of tourism, tourist profile, and market indicators. tourist labor, both nationally and internationally. Among the main conclusions, it is highlighted that tourism as a category of export service on a world scale, occupies the third position behind chemical products and fuels and ahead of the automotive sector, being the main category in countries such as Mexico and Thailand. Before the pandemic (year 2017), there were 1.326 million international tourist arrivals to destinations around the world. Due to the pandemic, tourism demand has been reduced worldwide and at the Colombian level, having effects on all links of the sector, including the labor market.
