    La esmeralda como mecanismo de crecimiento en el municipio de Muzo con la llegada de la empresa minería Texas Colombia

    The present project seeks to identify the benefits that the new emerald exploitation models have brought to the municipality of Muzo with the arrival of the company Mining Texas Colombia (MTC), for this an investigation was started with information gathering of Muzo analyzing the aspects social, economic and environmental starting from the early 80's the first emerald extractions where it manages to show the effects that illegal mining has brought, the armed conflict due to the power of the mines, the backwardness that has presented the population of the municipality in reference to the health system, low levels of education, economic income to the municipality insufficient additional lack of knowledge of the people who exploited the mines in terms of the management and rational use of water and natural resources. Moving on to the year 2009 in which the MTC company reaches the municipality of Muzo generating foreign investment, with new models of mining extraction and innovation seeking the development of the municipality generating quality of life, improving the environmental impact and the recovery of ecosystems thus achieving The world recognition of Muzo municipality as the capital city of the extraction of emerald. The investigation is carried out with the purpose of being able to identify the effects that the company Mining Texas Colombia cut for the municipality of Muzo.
