Política industrial y sofisticación exportadora en Japón (1950–1990): coordinación institucional como eje del desarrollo económico.
Salcedo Carvajal Bryan Camilo; Andrés Rocha Alfonso
The Japanese economy managed to implement a productive restructuring process thanks to its adequate bureaucratic coordination between the strategic planning of state entities such as MITI and the private interests of the domestic industry. This process was replicated by economies such as Singapore and Hong Kong. However, this model to this day opens the debate on economic development because currently contemporary globalization appears as a reality where a nation's successful integration into international markets has ceased to depend exclusively on the endowment of natural resources and has focused on its capacity for productive transformation and value-added generation. Thanks to its economic restructuring plan, Japan went from depending on primary goods such as steel and coal to transforming its productivity towards dynamic advantages that allowed it to sophisticate its export offerings.
