Fairtrade is a green seal that strengthens fair trade in the world, mainly promoting the agri-export sector, is to provide a product to the final consumer that guarantees transparency in production, social inclusion, establishes essential criteria for achieving equity between developed and developing countries, generates employment, encourages research and innovation , promotes education, ensures preservation and care with the environment, technology processes and demands quality in consumer products. This research aims to analyze the effect on exports of Colombian Hass avocado if certified with the Fairtrade seal, a qualitative approach investigation of a descriptive type is carried out in which the collection of information is done through documentary review and analysis from categories associated with each specific objective in relation to production, market, requirements for obtaining the seal, national and international supports, certified products and the benefits of certification. As research results, the positive effect is that Colombia is a competitive country and privileged by production conditions and has the ability to diversify its exports to specialized markets and risk entering with value-added products, as well as socially and economically strengthening communities through seal principles, the negative effect is on determining the price of the product on the basis of the market as it does not promote national consumption.
