Rubio-Herrera, Francy Adelina; García-Rojas, Heiddy Juliana; Otálvaro, Wuendy
Throughout the 21st century, one of the main approaches of the current government, educational institutions and families in general, has been to train young people with critical, investigative, reflective and curious thinking; more self-taught young people. All this in search of improving the 4 performance of the country's students, in the evaluation tests of the development of educational competencies, both nationally and internationally. It is intended to demonstrate the importance of creating good reading habits in young people from an early age, in order to achieve this goal, based on the fact that it has been found that it is during childhood that people awaken a greater attraction to discover new experiences and also the capacity to absorb and retain information is greater at this stage, for this reason, this motivation should be used so that children learn to read correctly and awaken in themselves a broad taste for reading. And thus, when the student reaches the levels of basic secondary education, it will be easier for her to approach texts critically and she will be able to make a more efficient analysis of them. That is why, in this article, it is intended to demonstrate how Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) serve as mediators to strengthen the reading comprehension of children from 11 to 13 years old, through the conceptualization of some terms such as, comprehension, reading and didactic strategy.
