Item Viabilidad y diseño de una red de FTTH para el conjunto residencial Portal del PinarRodriguez-Torres, Daniel Felipe; Garcia-Salcedo, Brayann Alejandro; Eliana Umbacia BetancourtThe growing demand for high-speed, low-latency technological services has rendered traditional copper and HFC networks obsolete, as they are insufficient to handle current data traffic volumes. In response to this issue, Fiber To The Home (FTTH) networks emerge as the ultimate solution. This research evaluates the technical and economic feasibility for the deployment of an end-to-end fiber optic network under a Point-to-Point (P2P) topology. Through a descriptive methodological approach and a techno-economic analysis, the infraestructure design and the project’s profitability indicators are projected. Preliminary results indicate that the P2P architecture guarantees symmetrical bandwidth, enhanced security, and unlimited scalability. It is concluded that implementing this network is both feasible and necessary to ensure optimal, high-availability connectivity, sustainably benefiting both residents and visitors on the study area.
