Abstract The present investigation arises as a need to contribute to the process of strengthening the Health and Safety at Work Systems from the pedagogy. Although significant progress has been made in the prevention of occupational accidents, there is still a long way to go before the small and medium-sized companies can offer safer environments to their employees every day. The absence of a training system to acquire good habits and practices in the performance of daily tasks within organizations becomes a problem since the accidents generated by bad practices at work can have a negative impact on the performance of workers and carry losses associated with phenomena such as absenteeism, disability and compensation for occupational diseases. In this research, the work of training a group of employees of a small company dedicated to the commercialization of food products and that did not have a specific program to guide its workers in the management of associated risks is approached from the andragogic perspective. in the presence of an emergency in the workplace. The experience shows the difficulties that have to try to carry out teaching-learning processes in adults and allows to contrast the results with the theoretical proposals in adult training.
