    Propuesta de Implementacion de Lean Service para el mejoramiento del servicio de Urgencia de la Clínica de Occidente

    Global concern to reduce rising health spending and improve the quality of patient care has driven the search for new tools for health management. Several international experiences have shown that Continuous Improvement practices, and in particular Lean, can be adapted to this sector, obtaining excellent results. However, there are few applications made. This work wants to demonstrate that with different tools of Lean can improve an emergency service such as the Clinica del Occidente. The main objective of the study carried out at the Clínica del Occidente was the implementation of a Lean system in the area of Emergency to improve the waiting time of each patient and avoid complaints of delay in care and future glosses generated by health promoting entities caused by unnecessary stays, so it was also proposed to change perspectives in emergency service showing an efficient service in this area A continuous improvement can be demonstrated with quality indicators and, at the same time, the Lean methodology and its tools have enabled the efficiency of administrative processes to avoid glosses caused by waiting or unnecessary stays of patients in the Clinic. The project presents the proposal of improvement in the emergency service with the implementation of the methodology of the Lean Service that has been developed in the Clinic of the West located in the City of Kennedy in the City of Bogotá, due to the constant problem that was presented in terms of emergency department service due to delays in the processes of entry, and that with the application of the different tools of the Lean showed a significant improvement in waiting times by the users in the area and their security , which on the other hand can be obtained economic benefits for the clinic.
