Análisis del TISA y oportunidades para Colombia en el comercio de servicios
Paez-Almeida, Carlos Eduardo; Vargas-Garzón, Rafael; Redondo Méndez, Andrea Carolina
The development of the service sector in Colombia has shown enormous growth despite little support from the government over the years, since it primarily promotes the agricultural and mining sectors, which, as evidenced in the composition of the Colombian GDP, does not represent a significant percentage. The objective of this study is to analyze the International Trade In Services Agreement (TISA), which specializes in trade in services and is currently being negotiated by 23 delegations around the world, including Colombia, and to infer the commercial opportunities it has this within the agreement. It is a qualitative and documentary type investigation where figures related to trade in services are investigated and secondary sources are reviewed. The theoretical reference used was multilateralism, adapting this to the situations and opportunities that the TISA may present for Colombia in trade in services. The results of the research show the different commercial opportunities of Colombia in this TISA service agreement and conclude with the 4 possibility of successfully participating in the export of services in the Travel and Transportation sectors, mainly due to the broad interest of foreign countries in Colombia, and its geographical position that facilitates its communication with all continents.
