Gestión de trabajo seguro, un análisis desde la salud mental en el sector de hidrocarburos / Management of Safe Work and Mental Health in the Hydrocarbons Sector
Ortiz Duran Lesly; Cañas Navarro Carol Melizza; Rubio Roa Dayana; .
This thesis studies the management of safe work in the hydrocarbons sector from the perspective of mental health, based on a documentary review of scientific literature. Its main objective is to highlight how psychosocial factors can affect workplace safety and the well-being of workers. The results indicate that, although some Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems have historically been oriented toward addressing the prevention of physical risks, there is a growing need to prioritize mental health as a fundamental component of these systems. Long working hours, rotating shifts, geographical isolation, work pressure, leadership styles, among others, directly impact the onset of disorders ranging from stress, depression, anxiety, and insomnia. It was also identified that the main strategies for safe work involve implementing international standards (such as ISO 45001), preparing jobs, improving working conditions, among others, and promoting overall well-being, among others; actions that help reduce human errors, workplace accidents, and absenteeism levels. It is concluded that the management of safe work must be understood globally, and that it is essential to integrate mental health within prevention systems to enhance the safety culture, improve productivity, and create safer work environments.
