Diseño y construcción de un prototipo de máquina universal de ensayos
    Aponte-Amado, Jose-Luis; Orjuela-Bernal, Yobanny-Albeiro; Cruz-Guayacundo, Wilmer
This document details the design, construction and validation of a universal testing machine prototype. The main objective is to design and build a prototype capable of performing compression and bending tests to evaluate the mechanical properties of carrots grown in the greenhouse of the Universitaria Agustiniana. In addition, it seeks to support research projects and teaching in the subject of Materials Science. Various alternatives were explored for the type of drive and structure of the universal testing machine. The design of the prototype was based on information obtained from multiple sources and on compliance with national and international standards. The materials and components of the machine were carefully selected, considering its capacity and purpose for the intended tests. In addition, the manufacturing processes necessary for the construction and assembly of the prototype are described. Finally, the system was validated through experimental tests, ensuring that the prototype meets the established requirements and expectations. This project not only provides a valuable tool for research and education, but also contributes to the development of practical skills in the field of engineering.
