Desórdenes musculoesqueléticos en trabajadores de call center una mirada desde la prevalencia y los factores de riesgo. Musculoskeletal disorders in call center workers: a look at prevalence and risk factors.
Durango-Petro Jorge Francisco; Díaz-Parodi, Johanna Lucía; Mendoza-Parada, Yesica Yibet; Bueno-Castro, Diana Derly
The document analyzes musculoskeletal disorders (MSDs) among call center workers, highlighting them as a frequent issue linked to working conditions such as prolonged postures, repetitive movements, continuous computer use, and high organizational demands. A literature review identifies neck pain and lower back pain as the most common disorders—primarily affecting the neck and back—with a high prevalence of symptoms in this population. The study concludes that the origin of these disorders is multifactorial, involving ergonomic, organizational, technological, and psychosocial factors; consequently, it emphasizes the importance of implementing occupational health and safety preventive measures—such as ergonomic workstation improvements, the promotion of active breaks, and self-care strategies—to reduce their impact on health and work performance.
