Desarrollo de una aplicación de realidad virtual inmersiva para el acceso remoto e interactivo a la colección bibliográfica general de la biblioteca universitaria uniagustiniana
Julian Santiago Bourdon Ladino; Mauricio Alonso Villalba
This project presents the development of an immersive Virtual Reality (VR) application designed to replicate and facilitate remote access to the general bibliographic collection of the physical library at Universitaria Agustiniana (Uniagustiana). The main objective is to overcome spatial and temporal barriers, allowing students, teachers, and researchers to explore and consult the catalog using headsets such as Meta Quest or PCVR systems. The application was built using the Unity game engine, C# programming language, and the OpenXR standard, utilizing a local SQLite database for information management. Beyond interactive navigation, the software integrates features that enrich research, such as a smart recommendation system, thematic categorization of texts, the ability to create personal virtual notes, and a community-based star rating system. Guided by the SUM (Software Development Method for Video Games) methodology, the project results in an innovative technological tool that modernizes access to academic information and fosters a more collaborative and connected learning environment
