Item Oportunidad comercial de Colombia para exportar guayaba pera a Estados UnidosPalomar-Cifuentes, Laura Andrea; Joya-Cogua, Diana Carolina; Aguilar-Galeano, EstibalizThe purpose of this project is to determine what is the commercial opportunity that Colombia has to export pear guava to the United States market. For this research, a qualitative approach and a descriptive type of research were used, in order to collect information independently. We worked under the model of Porter's competitive advantage theory, which provided the basis to identify through the production factors the strengths, opportunities, weaknesses and threats that the object of study may have, after which they were evaluated the current demand and competition conditions to export pear guava to the United States. As a result, it was found that Colombia has relevant strengths and opportunities to reach the US market, taking as a first that the United States is a demanding market and must comply with phytosanitary and security measures and arguably the most demanding customs regulations worldwide. The results obtained show that Colombia has had significant growth in the last four years, thanks to commercial alliances such as TLC, Export opportunities and the demand for fruits in this country grows rapidly every day, the United States is a demanding market and Colombia must improve and acquire experience and knowledge at a technical and commercial level to be competitive with other countries with this type of product.
