La memoria como objeto de mercantilización y consumo a partir del turismo en las ruinas de Armero
Alvelayis Nieto Mejía; Jorge Alexander Mora; Edwin Bonelo Martínez; EDITORIAL UNIAGUSTINIANA
The ruins of the municipality of Armero as a symbolic place face the dicho-tomy of being recognized as a place of memory or a place of history, a dicho-tomy in which it is difficult to distinguish what is one and what is the other, since the tourist practices developed There they materialize their space as a place of consumption, blurring the real purposes of the travelers’ visits. Therefore, the ob-jective of this work aims to understand why memory is transformed into an object of commodification and consumption based on tourism in the ruins of Armero. In its methodological structure, a qualitative approach research based on an interpre-tive paradigm was carried out; The method was oriented from the ethnography of the places, and the systematization of the information was carried out using the inductive content analysis technique. A critical reflection is proposed on how poor planning transforms memory into an object of consumption in a progressive process of tourism
