Laura Elizabeth Castro Jiménez; Isabel Adriana Sánchez Rojas; Héctor Mauricio Rincón Moreno; Libros de America Latina Actualidad y Perspectivas
Motivation is an issue that should be addressed in health promotion programs as it is an important factor that influences changes in individual behavior. The objective of this research was to know what actions have been used in health promotion, using motivation theories as a basis, which can serve as evidence to propose actions in this area. For this, a scoping review was proposed, in which a total of 303 articles were reviewed in Pubmed, Science direct, Scopus, of these 40 articles met the inclusion criteria and these were evaluated with the SIGN Scale. After the evaluation, 7 articles with evidence 1+ were obtained, 5 articles with evidence 1, 4 articles with evidence 1-, 5 articles with evidence 2+, 1 article with evidence 2-, 6 articles with evidence 3 and 12 articles with qualitative methodology. Finding a wide variety of actions in health promotion that use motivational theories (the Health Action Process Approach (HAPA) model, self-determination theory, financial incentives, the Information Motivation Skills Model) to achieve behavioral and lifestyle changes, being a category of analysis that must be considered to improve the quality of life and health conditions.
