In the development of this research, the quantitative-descriptive methodology was used, based on data on production and statistics that allowed us to know the viability of exporting Colombian vegetable leather made from pineapple leaf fiber to the Italian market. Vegetable leather made from pineapple leaf fiber emerges as a great marketing opportunity for Colombia towards Italy, thanks to the high production of pineapple that exists in the national territory. In the same way, this activity helps to create new jobs for the peasant population. in pineapple crops. The Italian market niche is the most successful since the population of that country is interested in buying eco-friendly raw materials. On the other hand, despite the fact that this country is strong in the export of leather, it must also import a large quantity of this product in order to supply the demand. Colombia can take advantage of its climatic, demographic and labor advantages to export high quality vegetable leather.
