Item Lineamientos estratégicos de valoración y divulgación de la cultura de San Basilio de Palenque en el Centro Histórico de BogotáCordón-Benavides, Yarisneth; Cortes-López, Diana Mildreth; Guancha-Chaparro, Karen Nathalia; León Cárdenas, MauricioThe present research project aims to design strategic guidelines for dissemination and cultural valuation of San Basilio de Palenque in the historic center of Bogotá. This village was the first free town in America and is declared by UNESCO as intangible cultural heritage of humanity because of the relevance and connotations of its cultural manifestations that have endured each generation. In addition, concepts and theories of cultural manifestations are part of the towns identity. The methodology applied was descriptive and exploratory with ethnographic orientation, with a mixed approach, which allowed evaluations of the potential for dissemination and appreciation of the Afro descendent culture. Also, people were very interested in having contact with the native people’s culture. However, it was identified in the surveyed population of the metropolis that unknown to San Basilio de Palenque county and they have little valuation for the ancestral culture. Also, one of the difficulties found in the applied metodology It was the culturalisolation among Afro descendant groups. Because of this it was possible to establish the said guidelines of cultural valuation and dissemination of palenquera culture as strategies about cultutal exchange and recjection of racial discrimation by awareness workshops, artistic activities, cultural dissemination and promotional benefits through the mediation of cultural managers. In conclusion, this research was carried out due to contributions from cultural managers who develop cultural activities in order to promote and strengthen Afro descendent traditions.
