    This research analyzes the operational efficiency and energy diversification of Ecopetrol S.A. during the period 2020–2025, with the aim of identifying strategies that strengthen its sustainability and competitiveness. The study was conducted through a documentary analysis approach using corporate reports, financial statements, and strategic documents published by the company. Operational performance indicators, international negotiation processes, and energy transition strategies were examined. The results show that, although the company maintains a leadership position in the Colombian energy sector, it still faces challenges related to its high dependence on oil revenues and the need to optimize operational processes. Therefore, strategies focused on digitalization, energy diversification, and strategic decision-making are proposed to improve competitiveness and long-term sustainability.
