The textile sector is traditionally one of the most relevant industries in the country, it has been shown that in recent years it has had deficiencies, due to imports at a lower cost from other countries, mainly from China, so the following work has as its main objective is to describe and analyze the development of the textile industry in China and its commercial growth process, with the intention of identifying those factors and/or processes that can be implemented in Colombia in order to develop a competitiveness strategy under the parameters of the theory. It is a qualitative and descriptive research in which the essential conditions are identifies and analyzed at the Micro, Meso and Meta levels, within the textile industry, which allows to conclude that it needs the invention of additional mechanisms to contribute to the development of this sector, both in aspects of the market such as business administration, process innovation, variety in qualities and lower costs, involving not only large companies, but also informal manufacturers that can boost their small companies and contribute to the social development of the country.
