    Joyería comercial colombiana; después de la firma del TLC Colombia-Estados Unidos, período 2019-2020

    This research presents an analysis of the dynamics of the Colombian jewelry sector after the signing of the Free Trade Agreement (FTA) between Colombia and the United States. For this, the demand for jewelry in the United States was characterized; the trend of the jewelry trade between both countries; and strategies were suggested to strengthen the effect of the trade agreement in the sector studied. Methodologically, a quantitative approach and descriptive scope were used based on variables such as: Gross Domestic Product (GDP) of the Colombian jewelry sector, participation in the international market and growth throughout the period. Among the results, it stands out that Colombian jewelry is desired worldwide for its distinctive features and characteristics; also highlighting the national export potential of excellent quality raw materials (precious stones). Regarding the FTA, its positive effect on the modernization and improvement of the internationalization indexes of the sector was evidenced.
