LA RELACIÓN ENTRE LA PRODUCCIÓN, EL CRECIMIENTO Y LA APERTURA COMERCIAL CON LA REDUCCIÓN DE LA POBREZA MONETARIA EN COLOMBIA 2002-2014•
Cristian Samir Ulloa Ramos; Sandra Martínez Herrera; Karla Villalba Ortiz; Sello Editorial Coruniamericana
Economic growth has a direct impact on poverty reduction in two ways: the first increases jobs and the second increases government revenues to achieve programs that attack poverty. In Colombia, this growth is the result of the dynamics of production levels and the insertion of the country in the international market. This article aims to show the evolution of production, growth and trade openness in the country and its relationship with monetary poverty indicators between 2002 and 2014. It is found that higher levels of production, in this period, also show lower rates of poverty; However, when analyzing economic growth, trade openness and monetary poverty, this relationship is not so evident. In particular, because the external dynamics of the country have not explained the growth of the economy, therefore, greater openness cannot be directly related to lower levels of poverty.
