    At present the dairy sector in the Colombian economy has little participation. Because the government has shown little interest in this in recent years. Losing competitiveness in the international market and generating a deficit in the trade balance. Consistent with the above, this work aims to analyze the value chain of this product and show the certain shortcomings that it has, such as; the lack of good milking practices. For which a review of data on the importance of the dairy sector in the Colombian economy, the different opportunities of the dairy sector in the international market and lastly the value chain of the company the recreation was analyzed. Leaving as a result the lack of knowledge on the part of the breeders at the time of extracting the milk and that this is not of good quality to compete in the international market.
