Automatización de informes comerciales en el sector asegurador en Colombia
Danna Yishet Aragón Donoso; Jorge Alexander González Rodríguez; Carolina Angarita Cardenas
In the insurance sector, the preparation of business reports is a fundamental activity for monitoring organizational performance and supporting strategic decision-making. In many organizations, these reports continue to be generated through manual processes, primarily based on spreadsheets, which increases operational time, raises the likelihood of human error, and limits the analytical use of available information. In this context, this research focuses on the low efficiency and operational risk associated with the manual generation of business reports. The research principle develops an automation and standardization solution for generating business reports in insurance companies in Colombia, leveraging data analytics and business intelligence tools that integrate data mining, transformation, loading, analysis, and visualization. Methodologically, an applied approach is implemented, starting with an analysis of the current report preparation process, in order to identify critical activities, levels of manual intervention, and operational risk points. The results show that a significant proportion of work time is spent on repetitive tasks such as data cleaning, consolidation, and validation, which reduces the teams' ability to focus on analyzing results based on strategic goals. Finally, the proposal involves adopting a data integration and automated report generation system that improves data quality and reduces errors, enhancing decision-making and contributing efficiently to the operation and advancement of digital transformation within the organization and the insurance sector.
