    Incidencia económica y comercial que ha tenido la industria petrolera en el departamento del Meta entre los años 2013 al 2017.

    For more than 48 years the department of Meta began with the first drilling of oil wells when the fields in the municipality of Castilla were discovered. The department over the years has been one with the greatest potential in heavy crudes and with the highest activity by the National Hydrocarbons Agency in the country. The hydrocarbon sector is considered one of the main sectors of the Colombian economy and with the largest share of GDP during the last decade. However, during this same period other sectors of the economy such as services, industry and commerce were promoted. This research focuses on highlighting and deepening the economic and commercial impact that oil exploitation has generated in the department of Meta, allowing us to study also in the timeline between 2013 to 2017 the variation that this sector has had in comparison with the otheractivities. For the fulfillment of the objective and the elaboration of the present investigation, the comparative of the departmental and National GDP of the activity of mines and quarries in the department, the growth rate of the years 2013 to 2017, monthly and annual production of barrels in the different wells of the department, number of wells in force for oil exploitation in Meta, causes of variation in activity and analysis of the level of exports of the Department during the years in reference.
