One of the most relevant characteristics of the envelope today lies in its constitution as an independent structural subsystem, this is possible thanks to the fact that the supporting structure acts as its liberating frame; On the contrary, in the rururban housing of Guavatá the supporting structure conditions the envelope by containing it within it, this is a common characteristic in traditional housing, as a consequence the generic and productive spaces are not articulated in a way that allows the functional unity of the housing, which led to ask, in what way the relationship between the supporting structure and the envelope allows the articulation of the generic and productive space to the housing? . In order to achieve this, the relationship between the load-bearing structure and the envelope was chosen as the independent variable, subjecting it to a classification process of the existing models in the field of study and contrasting them with external reference models, in order to analyze its articulation with the different generic and productive spaces in the dwelling; For this purpose, different methods are proposed that have their origin in the research problem and development in the architectural field, which determines the result of the experimental formulation, which in relation to the envelope and the supporting structure allows establishing certain percentages of envelope of free and contained character according to its interior program, which makes possible the bases to project an architectural building.
