Sandoval Castaño Nathalia; Astudillo Rivera Andrea; Pérez Martínez Martha Janneth; Delvasto Ricaurte Esperanza
This research analyzes how resistance to organizational change affects the adaptability and sustainability of small and medium-sized enterprises (PYMES) in Pereira during the period 2020-2025, using Mallas y Gaviones Risaralda S.A.S. The purpose was to identify the factors that influence resistance to change and establish their relationship with organizational permanence and competitiveness. This research was conducted using a qualitative approach, with a non-experimental, longitudinal design and an explanatory scope. The information was obtained through semi-structured interviews with employees at different levels and was supplemented with a document review. The results showed that resistance to change is associated with cultural factors, organizational habits, uncertainty, and leadership styles; however, they also showed that adequate human talent management, accompanied by communication, training, and participation processes, would favor organizational adaptation. It is concluded that the strategic management of continuous improvement is a determining factor in strengthening business sustainability, promoting innovation, and improving the responsiveness of PYMES to the challenges of such a dynamic and changing business environment.
