    La papa belga: factores replica para mejorar la productividad de la papa colombiana

    Analyzing potato consumption trends in Colombia, it has been possible to observe that the Colombian market has opted to buy and consume products that has not been produced in the country, which generates some amazement, due to the fact that Colombia has had high rates and levels of production for several years and this generates confusion local potato producers. Additionally, studies have allowed to appreciate that the levels of Imports of potatoes in Colombia has been increasing in recent years and the countries where more potatoes are brought are the same: Belgium, Germany and the Netherlands, an essential fact that allow generating this study of potatoes. It is important to add that Colombia currently has a demand won with the World Trade Organization against Belgium for the increase in imports of potatoes in high magnitudes below the real price that will soon end. For this reason this document seeks to identify the productive processes of the potato production sector in Belgium, which is the country that most exports potatoes to Colombia so this will make possible to understand what the success of the European country based on geographical, legislative and productive information, also carry out a study of the productive sector of the potato in Colombia in order to contrast the shortcomings that reside in the country and can be applied in the same through a replica case.
