The film seeks to present, from a human and cinematic perspective, the sacrifices, discipline, and emotional conflicts faced by the protagonist both inside and outside the octagon. Through interviews, archival material, and the following of his athletic journey, the documentary explores personal growth, perseverance, and the construction of identity within the context of MMA in Colombia. Likewise, it proposes an alternative perspective to traditional sports documentation by highlighting the human and social value of the contemporary fighter. The narrative allows viewers to understand the experiences, motivations, and challenges that have shaped Trujillo’s career, showing how sports influence his personal and professional life. In this way, the documentary does not focus solely on training and competition but also seeks to bring the audience closer to the person behind the athlete. In this sense, El Patrón reflects on struggle, effort, and the constant pursuit of personal growth, using sport as a means to portray a story of discipline, identity, perseverance, and overcoming challenges.
