Item Repercusiones en la inversión extranjera directa entre China y Estados Unidos de la guerra comercialPulido-Toledo, Juan Sebastian; Abril-Arcila, Cesar Gerardo; García Castiblanco, Claudia PaolaTrade relations between US and China are dynamic and tend to rise annually in investment and trade, representing a value of $635.162,3 million in their best year (2017). Nevertheless, this relationship had a tension caused by Donald Trump’s arrival in the US presidency with policies to protect the domestic market. This research seeks to determine whether the discourse, threats, and barriers to trade adopted by governments affect the flow of Foreign Direct Investment between countries. This research used the theory of Dunning’s eclectic paradigm with the advantages of internationalization and Knight’s businessman’s theory of risk for the identification of risk or uncertainty adopted by investment firms. As a final result, the decline in the value and percentage of FDI in both countries in the years explored in 2018 and 2019 is evident. The sectors most affected by this war were gas and crude oil, technology with telecommunications and software creation, agriculture, real estate, automotive and aviation (manufacturing). The sectors mentioned in turn were the ones that generated the greatest mobility of money, investment and employment generation in each country. It should therefore be emphasized that the impact of war is evident not only on import and export operations but also on business creation, business creation and market opening.
