2025-09-082025-09-08https://repositorio.uniagustiniana.edu.co/handle/123456789/2688The objective of this article is to show the Creative Commons licenses into the intellectual Property System as a different alternative of copyright and how can be used like a knowledge dissemination tool; the methodology is qualitative at the relational and explanatory levels; a documentary review was carried out on four categories: copyright, Creative Commons licenses, open access and research in Colombian higher education; it is found that these types of licenses are not used to a greater extent, however with the opportunity of open access for publication in scientific journals, there is a tendency for more dissemination; the open access efforts operate as an opening of knowledge to the world, but not vice versa; it is concluded that research in Colombia depends on the accessible knowledge that only reaches 10% of global knowledge. Efforts should be made to access proprietary bases and resources, which require investment and government policies. El objetivo de este artículo es presentar las licencias Creative Commons dentro del sistema de propiedad intelectual como alternativa del derecho de autor y mostrar cómo pueden utilizarse como herramienta de diseminación del conocimiento. La metodología es de tipo cualitativo en los niveles relacional y explicativo. Se hizo una revisión documental sobre cuatro categorías: derecho de autor, licencias Creative Commons, open access e investigación científica en la educación superior colombiana. Se encontró que este tipo de licencias no son las más utilizadas, sin embargo, con la oportunidad de open access para publicación en revistas científicas, hay una tendencia a mayor diseminación; los esfuerzos de open access funcionan como apertura del conocimiento hacia el mundo pero no al contrario. Se concluye que la investigación en Colombia depende del conocimiento accesible, que solo alcanza al diez por ciento del conocimiento global.
