Caracterización del transporte férreo y su importancia en el desarrollo económico colombiano
Resumen
El sistema de transporte vehicular que se implementó en un principio dio buenos resultados pero en la actualidad no es así; es un hecho que Colombia necesita implementar un sistema de transporte para personas y mercancías, el cual debe ayudar a potencializar el desarrollo económico y de transporte en el país.
Aunque el sistema gubernamental insiste en invertir y aportar plenamente a un sistema de transporte unimodal enfocado en carreteras, cuyo costo es mucho más alto que el ferroviario, los cuales cuentan con ventajas de economías de escala. Sin embargo, ya se conoce la situación sobre el mal manejo que ha tenido la inversión en el sistema ferroviario en Colombia a lo largo de la historia donde se ha evidenciado que los problemas de corrupción, mala administración y despilfarro de los recursos públicos impiden que el gobierno actual se arriesgue con este sistema que modificaría positivamente las condiciones de comercialización y teniendo en cuenta el estado actual del país, en el que la expansión del Comercio Internacional se ha convertido en una de las principales directrices de crecimiento económico.
Abstract
The vehicle transportation system that was implemented at first gave good results but at present it is not so; it is a fact that Colombia needs to implement a transportation system for the people and merchandise, which should help to boost the economic and transport development in the country.
Although the government system insists on investing and fully contributing to a unimodal transport system focused on roads, whose cost is much higher than the railroad, which have advantages of economies of scale. However, the situation regarding the mismanagement of the railway system in Colombia throughout history has been well-known where it has been shown that the problems of corruption, mismanagement and waste of public resources prevent the current government will risk this system that would positively modify the conditions of commercialization and taking into account the current state of the country, in which the expansion of International Trade has become one of the main guidelines of economic growth.
